Tuck into a taste of Italy with our Milanese Tofu Ciabatta recipe. This delicious vegetarian dish will have your mouth watering!

Instructions

Step 1
  • Heat your vegetable oil in a large pan over a medium heat.
Step 2
  • Whilst your oil heats, pop your flour and breadcrumbs in separate shallow bowls. Season your flour bowl and add the mixed herbs.
Step 3
  • Now to make use of your breadcrumbs! Dip each slice of tofu in the flour, dusting all over and shake away any excess, then add your Cravendale to the remaining flour and whisk. Dip each floured tofu slice in the milk mixture and then roll in the breadcrumbs, ensuring you cover each slice all over.
Step 4
  • Use a spatula to carefully place each slice into the hot oil fry for a few mins. Once golden on one side, flip and repeat until crispy and golden all over, then remove and place on kitchen roll.
Step 5
  • Heat a griddle pan over a high heat to toast your ciabatta halves in until charred.
Step 6
  • Let's assemble! Smother each of your bottom ciabatta halves with mayo, followed by cracked black pepper and a handful of sliced olives. Top with a couple of slices of your Milanese tofu, followed by a dollop of chutney, Parmesan shavings and basil. Top each with your ciabatta and dig in!
Enjoy!
