Hojicha Tea and Cardamom Milk

Saori Ichihara, finalist of Chef of the Year 2015, has created a milk drink with hojicha, a Japanese roasted green tea. Together with cardamom this gives a fantastic energy boost!

Ingredients

1 litre Semi-skimmed milk
40 g Brown sugar
1 pinch Ground cardamom Seeds
100 ml Green tea Leaves (such as Hojicha)

Instructions

Step 1

  • Heat the milk, tea leaves and sugar and then remove from the heat. Allow to stand for about 10 minutes, strain and let cool.

Step 2

  • Serve in glass with ice and sprinkle with crushed cardamom seeds.
