Fruit Bread

Tastes great with cheese!

Ingredients

100 g Butter
300 ml Milk
50 g Yeast
100 g Cottage cheese
2 tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Coarse salt
600 g Wheat flour
50 g Chopped hazelnuts Kernels
100 g Chopped prunes

Brush

1 Whipped egg

Garnish

handful Pearl sugar

Instructions

Step 1

  • Melt the butter in a pan and add the milk. Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl and stir in the yeast. Add cottage cheese, sugar, salt and wheat flour (keep some of the wheat flour for later).

Step 2

  • Beat the dough together well. Gently mix in the nuts and the prunes. Cover the dough with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in a warm place for approximately 45 minutes.

Step 3

  • Take the dough out on a floured table and knead it lightly. Add the rest of the flour. Divide the dough into 3 pieces and roll each piece into a sausage (approximately 40 cm).

Step 4

  • Merge them into a "braid". Let the "braid" rest on the baking paper or a greased baking tray for approximately ½ hour. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sugar.

Step 5

  • Bake the fruit bread at the bottom of the oven.

Baking Time

  • ½ hour at 200 °C
