Classic English Scones

A classic recipe for English scones. Try one of the different flavours!


Step 1
  • Heat the oven to 250 °.
Step 2
  • Mix flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Spread the butter in the flour. Stir in milk and cream. Work together to create a dough.
Step 3
  • Roll out the dough on a floured bench till about 2 cm thick. Cut out 16 rounds of dough with a small glass.
Step 4
  • Put baking sheet paper on a baking tray. Brush dough with cream. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 12 minutes.

Topping Suggestions

For fruit scones: Replace half of the flour with graham flour. Add 1 cup of raisins or chopped raisins. For Apple scones: Add 1 cup of chopped apple and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in the flour For Chocolate scones: Add 30 g of chopped dark chocolate and 50g of chopped almonds in the flour.
