Food waste

Taking on food waste for a greener planet

In the UK, 9.5 million tonnes of food is wasted per year in homes and businesses*.

This staggering amount of food waste is causing serious problems for the environment – food in landfill sites gives off large amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, which contribute to heating up our planet.

At Arla, we believe that tackling food waste starts with us. We’re dedicated to bringing down food waste levels across the country with a number of projects designed to raise awareness on what should, and what shouldn’t, get chucked in the bin.

Whether it’s guides to reusing food in the kitchen or changing our labels to help reduce the amount of milk thrown away, we’re all about preventing waste wherever possible.
