Pumpkin Bread

Bake a delicious pumpkin bread for halloween. Enjoy with cold butter!

Ingredients

600 g Pumpkins
25 g Butter
250 ml Water
250 ml Buttermilk
50 g Yeast
1 tsp Sugar
1 tbsp Coarse salt
150 g Durum flour
700 g Wheat flour

1 Buttermilk

Instructions

Step 1

  • Remove the seeds from the pumpkin. Cut the pumpkin into large pieces and remove the peel (do not cut too close to the peel). Cut the pumpkin meat roughly - there needs to be approximately 400 g.

Step 2

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the water. Pour the mixture into a bowl and add the buttermilk.

Step 3

  • Stir in the yeast. Add the pumpkin meat and the other ingredients (keep a little wheat flour). Mix the mixture well.

Step 4

  • Cover the bowl with a lid and place the dough somewhere warm for rising, for approximately 1 hour.

Step 5

  • Take the dough out on a floured table and knead it thoroughly. Add any/or the rest of the flour - so the dough is covered.

Step 6

  • Shape the dough into a round bread and place it on baking paper. Let it rest, covered for approximately ½ hour.

Step 7

  • Brush the pumpkin bread with buttermilk and place it in the middle shelf of the oven on a baking tray. Baking time - 40 minutes at 200 °.
