Easy Sourdough Bread

Take a shortcut to a lovely, durable sourdough bread with this simple recipe. Good on its own or with spread!


Step 1
  • Mix yeast mix, rye flour and most of the wheat flour in a bowl. Heat the yogurt to 40 °. Pour in yogurt, cumin, salt, butter and syrup to the flour mixture.
Step 2
  • Work the dough, for about 10 minutes. Let it rise for about 45 minutes. Heat the oven to 225 °.
Step 3
  • Divide the dough into two parts and shape into loaves. Brush with water and roll in coarse rye flour. Let it cook on a tray on baking paper for about 45 minutes.
Step 4
  • Lower the temperature to 200 °. Bake in the lower part of the oven for 30–35 minutes. Let the bread loaves cool on a cooling rack.
