Cinnamon Cake

Cinnamon Cake

A classic cake with the taste of cinnamon and an extra delicious glaze. Cinnamon cake is perfect to take with you for a lunch break, on a trip, or to a picnic.

Ingredients

75 g Butter
275 g Sugar
275 g Wheat flour
3 tsp Cinnamon
1½ tsp Baking soda
350 ml Buttermilk

Glaze

50 g Butter
250 g Icing sugar
2 tsp Vanilla sugar
1 tbsp Cocoa powder
3 tbsp Strong Hot coffee

Instructions

Step 1

  • Beat the butter and sugar until the mixture becomes light and airy.

Step 2

  • Mix flour, cinnamon and baking soda and sieve into the butter and sugar mixture, gently alternating with the buttermilk to create a dough.

Step 3

  • Stir until a consistent dough is formed. Cover a springform baking tin (approximately 24 cm in diameter) with baking paper.

Step 4

  • Spread the dough in the tin and place in the middle of the oven. Let the cake cool down on a baking rack.

Step 5

  • Put butter, icing sugar and the other ingredients in a pan.

Step 6

  • Melt it on an even heat whilst, stirring until a smooth glaze.

Step 7

  • Add a little more coffee if the glaze is too thick. Baking time - ½ hour at 200 ° - traditional oven."
