Soft Cake

Soft Cake

Basic recipe for soft cake. Serve as it is or flavoured with your favourite spice - saffron, dried fruit or Christmas gingerbread spices. You can top the cake with a creamy frosting.

Ingredients

Butter At Room Temperature	100 g
Caster sugar	120 g
Eggs	3
Wheat flour	180 g
Baking soda	1½ tsp
Vanilla sugar	1 tsp
Sour cream	100 ml

Instructions

Step 1

Heat the oven to 175 °.

Step 2

Grease an ovenproof dish that holds about 1.5 litres.

Step 3

Whisk the butter and sugar quickly, preferably with an electric whisk. Stir in the eggs one at a time.

Step 4

Mix flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Add in the flour mixture and sour cream. Stir quickly into a smooth batter.

Step 5

Add any flavouring and pour the mixture into the dish. Bake in the lower part of the oven for about 35 minutes, let it cool.
