Mini Hotdogs

Easy to eat, even with small hands. Great for a children's birthday.

Ingredients

Hot Dog Bread

Butter
50 g
Milk
500 ml
Yeast
50 g
Sugar
4 tsp
Coarse salt
1½ tsp
Wheat flour
800 g

Main Filling

Cocktail sausages
48
Vegetable stock
1 litre

Additions

Mustard
500 ml
Tomato ketchup
500 ml
Remoulade sauce
500 g
Roasted white onions
500 g

Instructions

Step 1

  • Melt the butter in a pan and add the milk. Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir in the yeast. Add the other ingredients (keep a little flour).

Step 2

  • Beat the dough well together. Cover the bowl with a lid or cloth and leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.

Step 3

  • Take the dough out and put on a floured surface and knead it thoroughly. Add any or the rest of the mixture. Divide the dough into 48 pieces and roll them into elongated bread buns (about 7 cm).

Step 4

  • Put the buns on trays lined with baking paper and leave them to rest covered for about ½ hour. Bake the buns in the middle of the oven. Baking time - Approximately 10 minutes at 225 °.

Step 5

  • Put the sausages in a pan of boiling stock. Cover and bring the stock to the boil again. Then remove the pan from the heat and let the sausages stand in the stock for approximately 5 minutes.

Step 6

  • Cut the buns lengthways almost through. Strain the sausages using a sieve and place in the hot dog bread for mini hotdogs.
