French Waffle Cookies

These wonderfully crispy waffles with soft butter cream are called Parisian waffles. Try cutting the waffle dough into various shapes for a nice variation of this waffle dish!


Step 1
  • Mix flour and butter into a crumbly mixture. Add water and work quickly together to form a dough.
Step 2
  • Let the dough rest for at least one hour in the refrigerator.
Step 3
  • Heat the oven to 225 °.
Step 4
  • Roll out the dough thinly with a rolling pin on a sugared surface.
Step 5
  • Cut out 22 shapes with an oval or round measure about 6 cm in diameter.
Step 6
  • Put them on tray with baking paper and bake in the middle of the oven for 6-7 minutes. Let the cookies cool.
Step 7
  • Stir together butter and icing sugar, stir in the egg yolk and vanilla sugar.
Step 8
  • Spread the filling thinly on half of the cookies and sandwich two together.
