Cherry Cake

A lovely easy and delicious sweet cherry cake recipe. One that you will look forward to enjoying!


Step 1
  • Rinse the cherries and remove the stones and stalks.
Step 2
  • Mix the butter and sugar together until it crumbles. Beat the eggs in one at a time. Beat the mixture until light and airy.
Step 3
  • Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Sieve into the butter mixture and mix in the yogurt and milk.
Step 4
  • Gently mix in the pitted cherries with the potato flour.
Step 5
  • Line a baking tin (about 6 x 22 x 30 cm) with baking paper and pour the mixture into it.
Step 6
  • Bake in the middle of the oven for 1 hour 10 minutes at 175 °.
Step 7
  • Carefully lift the cake out of the tin using the baking paper and leave it to cool on a wire rack.
Top Tip

The cake can also be made with 375 g of pickled cherry or black cherries. With black cherries one can serve the cake for dessert - accompanied by e.g. vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. The cake can also be baked without cherries.
