Cheese Souffle

Cheese Souffle

Cheese soufflé is not difficult to make yourself. The trick is to beat the egg whites until firm and use well-greased moulds so it is easy to get the soufflés out. Serve these with a good salad!

Ingredients

Wheat flour
2 tbsp
Semi-skimmed milk
250 ml
Egg yolks
4
Salt
1 pinch
Grated nutmeg
1 pinch
Ground cayenne pepper
pinches
Corn starch
2 tsp
Grated Extra Mature Arla® LactoFREE Cheddar
200 g
Egg whites
5
Butter

Instructions

Step 1

  • Heat the oven to 225 °.

Step 2

  • Whisk the flour and half of the milk in a pan. Add the rest of the milk and allow to boil during whisking.

Step 3

  • Allow to cool slightly. Whisk in the egg yolks, salt, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, corn starch and cheese.

Step 4

  • Whisk the egg whites to form stiff peaks and stir into the mixture.

Step 5

  • Grease the moulds carefully and pour in the mixture.

Step 6

  • Cook in the bottom of the oven for 15–20 minutes.
