Caramelised nuts
Nuts are irresistibly moreish but caramelising them makes them even better! Whether you’re serving them to friends at a party or making yourself the ideal movie nibbles, they’re pretty unbeatable. You can customise them to your taste by using whatever mix of nuts you like. Cashews, peanuts, almonds, and pecans all work perfectly, so you could mix them all up or just stick to your favourite nut.
Spice things up
Cinnamon is a great spice for making caramelised nuts, but you can experiment with all sorts of flavours. Add a drop of vanilla or cocoa powder, or some crushed cardamom. A bit of grated nutmeg also works well. Add a bit of zing with some orange zest or add heat with chilli flakes or cayenne pepper.
How to store caramelised nuts
Once your caramelised nuts have cooked and cooled, you can store them in an airtight container for a couple of weeks at room temperature. If you want them to last a bit longer, keep them in the fridge. You can also freeze caramelised nuts for up to a couple of months.
