Buckwheat Porridge with Golden Milk and Figs

A gluten-free and nutritious cinnamon porridge. Golden from turmeric and infused with cardamom and honey. When figs are out of season, you can top the porridge with diced apples or frozen mango.

Ingredients

200 g Buckwheat Flakes
25 g Gluten Free oatmeal
2 tbsp Flaxseed
500 ml Water
2 pinches Salt
2 pinches Ground cinnamon

Golden Milk

300 ml Semi-skimmed milk
½ tsp Ground ground turmeric
2 pinches Ground cardamom
1 tsp Runny honey

Additions

2 Fresh figs
100 g Coarsely Chopped cashews

Instructions

Step 1

  • Mix all ingredients into the porridge in a saucepan and simmer for about 3 minutes while stirring.

Step 2

  • Mix all ingredients in a saucepan, warm and whisk vigorously

Step 3

  • Pour the porridge into bowls and top with figs and nuts. Serve golden milk."
