Baked Pears

Oven-baked pears served with a dollop of the sour cream. The flavours of Muscovado sugar with the cardamom gives the pears a wonderful taste.

Instructions

Step 1
  • Heat the oven to 250 °.
Step 2
  • Peel and halve the pears, leaving the stems attached.
Step 3
  • Put the pear halves in an ovenproof dish, and pour over the apple juice.
Step 4
  • Chop the nuts. Halve the vanilla pod and scrape out the seeds. Crush the cardamom roughly in a bowl.
Step 5
  • Add the vanilla seeds and sugar, and mix lightly.
Step 6
  • Spread the butter on the pears. Spread nuts and lemon peel on and around the pears. Sprinkle with the sugar mixture.
Step 7
  • Bake in the middle of the oven for 7-10 minutes. Serve with sour cream.
