Almond scones

Scones are the quintessential British pastry. Typically enjoyed with clotted cream and jam and paired with a warm cup of tea, these sweets are a lovely afternoon snack. Go the extra mile with this almond scone recipe, adding a nutty flavour to this buttery and crumbly sweet. Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to 225 °C.
Step 2
  • Mix the flour, the baking powder, the salt and the sugar in a bowl.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients and mix with your hands until crumbly.
Step 3
  • Place the dough in muffin tins and bake in the middle of the oven for about 20 minutes at 225°C.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool down. Your almond scones will then be ready to serve!
Top Tip

Avoid overmixing the ingredients to prevent your almond scones from getting tough. Don’t worry if your dough is a bit lumpy.
