Instructions

Step 1
  • Preheat oven to gas mark 6, 200°C, fan 180°C. Add all ingredients bar the egg and flour to a large bowl and mix to combine. Crack in the egg and stir through to create a mouldable mix.
Step 2
  • Divide the mixture into 8 and then use your hands to create patty shapes. Pour the flour onto a large plate and then pat each burger into the flour so they are evenly covered with a light dusting.
Step 3
  • Heat the oil in a large pan over a medium heat. Add two burgers at a time and cook for 5 mins each side so nicely browned. Once all four burgers are browned pop in the oven for 10 mins.
Step 4
  • Add each patty to the bottom half of a roll, dollop with ketchup to create the 'Sea monsters blood' and top with a slice of Cheddar (ensuring the zig-zag design sits at the front to look like teeth).
Step 5
  • Pop the bun top on, and pierce with two olive toothpicks to create 'Sea monster eyes'. Time to dig into your monster burger packed with vitamin K and fit for Popeye himself!
Enjoy!
Tips

The burgers can be frozen, so if you make too many, you can pop the remainder in the freezer for another day!
