About Vitamin D and your Child's Development

Vitamin D is needed for normal growth and development of bones in children, and also contributes to the normal functioning of their immune system.

SUPPLEMENTS

The UK government recommends that children have 10µg of vitamin D a day. Children can get vitamin D  from sun exposure, intake of foods naturally rich in vitamin D, fortified foods or vitamin tablets/drops. Only very few foods are naturally good sources of vitamin D and during the winter months the sun is too weak to help building vitamin D.
