Arla Foods triumphed at the 2011 annual Yorkshire Awards where it received the Yorkshire Business Enterprise award for outstanding efforts in job creation in the county.
Arla Foods is one of the UK’s leading dairy companies, and supplies a third of the nation's milk. Arla works closely with all the major retailers, and owns a portfolio of some of the UK’s leading dairy brands including Lurpak, Anchor, Cravendale and Lactofree.
The awards, now in their 23rd year, recognisepeople and organisations that have had an impact on Yorkshire and its people in some way, demonstrating their affection for, and commitment to, the county.
Behind this leading business is a team of around 2,800 talented people working across the UK at dairies, distribution centres and in head office, based in Leeds, Yorkshire. Arla also has numerous sites across a number of continents and countries, with core markets centred around Northern Europe.
Featuring eight awards in total, the event is organised and run by the Yorkshire Awards Committee, and involve some of the regions leading companies and organisations.
Awards recipients were chosen by a committee made up of representatives of the main sponsors of the awards. Sponsors included BBC Yorkshire, Welcome to Yorkshire and Yorkshire Bank.
