English Crumpets

This bread is best served sliced and eaten as it is or with butter.

Ingredients

Cold, Strong tea
200 ml
Light raisins
300 g
Cane sugar
200 g
Large eggs
2
Natural yoghurt
100 ml
Baking powder
2 tsp
Wheat flour
275 g

Instructions

Step 1

  • Soak the raisins in tea overnight.

Step 2

  • Whisk cane sugar with eggs - until light and foamy. Add yogurt. Mix the baking powder in the flour and fold it into the mixture (possibly sprinkled through a sieve).

Step 3

  • Add the raisins with all the tea. Pour the dough into a greased loaf tin and place in the middle of the oven for 50 minutes at 200 °.
