Arla Foods, the farmer-owned dairy company, has introduced fruit and vegetable yogurts, Arla Big Yogs. The product is designed to help parents to encourage children to eat vegetables and has added vitamins and minerals to help support their growth and development.

The launch of the tasty and nutritious Big Yogs is another demonstration of Arla’s commitment to expand in to the yogurt category, following the success of Arla skyr and Arla Protein.

In April 2015, Arla Big Milk, the fresh cow’s milk with added Iron, Vitamin D and Vitamin A, was launched. It provides mums and dads across the country with an easy and convenient way of giving their children the vitamins and minerals they need.

Arla Big Yogs have been launched following extensive customer research. Independent research* revealed that 95% of parents questioned liked the fact that the product contained vegetables, as they can find it hard to feed their children vegetables in their usual format.

The product is made from 3% fat whole milk yogurt, natural fruit and vegetables and enriched with Vitamin D and calcium, needed for normal growth and development of bones in children.

Naturally sweetened with fruit juice concentrate children have the option of four delicious flavours in two product SKU’s:

  • Raspberry & Beetroot, Sweet Potato and Mango; and
  • Blueberry & Pumpkin and Strawberry & Carrot.

Holly Twiss, Brand Manager at Arla comments, “Since we launched Arla Big Milk in 2015, we have been excited by the response the range has received from parents.

The launch of Arla Big Yogs demonstrated Arla’s commitment to helping parents ensure their little ones get the nutrients they need to grow strong and healthy by creating delicious products enriched with essential vitamins and minerals.”

Arla entered the yogurt category in 2015 with innovative products such as Arla skyr and Arla Protein with significant success and last month, it added Arla Lactofree Natural Yogurt. Big Yogs is the latest move into the category offering something not currently on the supermarket shelves.

The launch continues Arla’s objective to grow through product innovation within its Arla brand focusing on healthy and natural offerings. This year, Arla has launched a number of exciting new products including Arla Cravendale 250ml bottles for the on-the-go shopper, Arla skyr drinks and Arla Best of Both – fat-free milk that tastes as good as semi-skimmed.

Big Yogs are available now in two 4 x 110g multi packs from ASDA stores with an RRP of £1.69

*Research carried out by Platypus Research on behalf of Arla in 2015 - 121 parents asked if they agree or disagree with the statement ‘I love the fact it (Big Yogs) contains vegetables.
