Arla Foods is raising its milk price for AFMP members by 1.5ppl, with effect from 1 November 2013.

The increase will be applied to the base price and takes the Arla/AFMP standard litre* to 33.13 pence.

The rise follows the earlier confirmation from the cooperative that its owners (AML) would receive an increase of 0.74ppl from 30 September 2013, taking their price to 33.05ppl. This rise is further to the increase from 2 September of 0.77ppl.

Commenting on the price rises, Ash Amirahmadi, Head of Milk and Member Services at Arla Foods UK, said: "The increase to our owners (AML) and AFMP members is possible due to Arla being able to recover the money from the market place and is in line with the cooperative’s commitment to pay a competitive market price. We thank our customers for their support."

In line with the cooperative’s policy to communicate its milk price monthly, Arla will announce the November milk price for its owners (AML) during the third week in October.
