Arla Foods announces 0.5ppl milk price increase

Arla Foods announced, at the South West Dairy Show on Wednesday 30 January 2008, that following successful discussions between Arla Foods and the board of Arla Foods Milk Partnership from 1 February 2008 Arla Foods standard litre will increase by 0.5p per litre to 25.5ppl.

AFMP members who supply Asda will receive 26.5ppl from 1 February 2008.

AFMP members who supply Tesco will remain on 27.5ppl until the scheduled review with Tesco in March for implementation in April.

Jonathan Ovens, chairman of Arla Foods Milk Partnership, said: "We view this to be a positive move in a very uncertain marketplace."
