Express Dairies picked up a top accolade at the recent UK Mail awards which recognise and celebrate best practice across the entire UK mail logistics chain.
Matthew Robertson, director of home delivery for Express collected the 2004 UK Mail Award for Innovation on behalf of the company for its dairy delivery service.
"This is the first time we have entered the awards and it was Triangle the organisers of the UK Mail Awards that encouraged us to try for the award for innovation. It is the category for individuals or companies that have encouraged and developed new ideas and initiatives in the mail industry and which deliver value to mail users," explained Matthew.
"It was a very pleasant surprise when Express was announced as the winner as we were up against some tough competition," he added.
The award was presented by Mr Nick Wells, chief executive for TNT Mail UK who said that Express, in addition to meeting all the criteria, scooped the award ‘for providing the first step in a series of major changes to serve the community’s need for delivery of mail, packets and parcels’. He added that the company has also constructed a base on which further value added services could be built.
