Our Farmers

Arla Foods purchases its milk from Arla Foods Milk Partnership (AFMP) a unique producer group and a selection of the major milk co-operatives. AFMP currently supplies approximately 80 per cent of Arla Foods' raw milk requirements.

The Partnership (formally Northern Milk Partnership and then Express Milk Partnership) was established in 1993 as a unique milk-marketing organisation.

AFMP producers have been recruited to supply milk to the company because they adhere to our high standards in terms of milk production, farm assurance and animal welfare through the Assured Dairy Farm Scheme. Another factor includes their proximity to our dairies across the UK.

In return, Arla Foods provides direct supply farmers with access to the liquid milk market and the price that is associated with it.
